lunch

Hey. my friend, Marcia Schoefild, who is a longtime friend, and was in the Fall the same time I was in the Bad Seeds, is in NYC visiting and we had lunch.
We caught up with our own lives and gossiped a bit. An enjoyable day.

I watched John Carpenter's "The Thing" (1982) last night. What a great and scary movie that still is. Do you think that it was a comment on AIDS? I thought that at the time, and thought it again last night. Check it out.
Now I just realized that my blog always seemed to sound like an an ad for whatever i am doing. Sorry about that, i really hate that kind of thing. It is definetly not what i want to do. I just want to make music.

I don't know why I didn't print the lyrics to the songs in the booklet for "Philosophy and Underwear" , so here, I will randomly print the lyrics. Sing along!
The History of French Cuisine (Powers, Martin, O'Brien)

YOU ARE NOT WHAT YOU SEEM
YOU, MY DEAR, YOU ARE A DREAM
JUST LIKE THOSE FILMS WE’VE NEVER SEEN
WHERE THE BLUES, THEY CHANGE TO GREEN

YOUR EYES TURN OVER LIKE SCENES
THE PAGES IN A MAGAZINE
“FACES OF BEN VEREEN”
“THE HISTORY OF FRENCH CUISINE”

THE GLUTTONY AND PEACOCKS, THEY PREEN
YOU ARE A VICIOUS QUEEN
THE SUMMER SHADE OF NEW ORLEANS
WHERE THE BLUES, THEY CHANGE TO GREEN

YOUR EYES TURN OVER LIKE SCENES
THE PAGES IN A MAGAZINE
“FACES OF BEN VEREEN”
“THE HISTORY OF FRENCH CUISINE”

A TUNELESS SONG FOR LOVERS TO SING
AND THE KIND OF EYES THAT SEE IN MY DREAMS
WELL YOU ARE NOT AS YOU SEEM
YOU, IN FACT, ARE A DREAM
JUST LIKE THOSE FILMS THAT WE’VE NEVER SEEN
WHERE THE BLUES, THEY CHANGE TO GREEN

YOUR EYES TURN OVER LIKE SCENES
THE PAGES IN A MAGAZINE
“FACES OF BEN VEREEN”
“THE HISTORY OF FRENCH CUISINE”

A TUNELESS SONG FOR LOVERS TO SING
AND THE KIND OF EYES, THEY SEE IN KID CONGO’S DREAMS
I SAID GOOD BYE GOOD BYE
I SAID Au revoir Au revoir
I SAID GOOD BY BY BY BY BY BY BY BY BY
GOOD BYE… GOOD BYE
